Click and collect, without the queue.
Customers, couriers and, soon, driverless cars all collect from the same few bays. Startup X gives each one a bay and a time, and your team knows who's there before they land.
What it looks like today
They show up at once
Three bays, five cars, same minute. More bays won't fix it. Spacing them out will.Nobody's keeping the order
A person would circle and find a spot. A self-driving car drives to a coordinate and stops. If the spot is taken, it's in the way. Nobody is telling it otherwise. So someone goes out to look
Which vehicle, which order, which bay? That's fine at five a day. It falls apart long before fifty.
How it works
- 01
A vehicle is on its way
A customer driving over taps "I'm here" in a link. A courier platform or a fleet tells us through the API. Later, a customer's own self-driving car. That's all we need. - 02
We give it a spot
One that's free when it gets there, plus the route across your site to reach it. Entrances, aisles, height limits — all the things its map doesn't know. - 03
Your team knows what's there
A tablet in the back room shows which vehicle is in which bay, and which order it's here for. No one has to walk out and look. - 04
And the spot frees up again
As soon as it leaves, the bay is ready for the next one. Nobody has to remember anything.
What if someone's already parked there?
It happens. A shopper takes the reserved bay. Most car parks don't have cameras on the pickup bays, so we don't rely on spotting it in advance.
Instead, the vehicle arrives, sees the bay is taken, and reports it. Within seconds it has a new spot, and your team is told. Sorted, before anyone has to get involved.
And we learn from it. If a bay keeps getting taken at two o'clock, we stop offering it at two o'clock.
What you need to get started
A sign at each bay
Software can't stop a shopper from taking the spot reserved for a driverless vehicle. A simple sign can. We'll help you get them, at cost. No barriers, no hardware.Nothing from your till
The order number comes along with the vehicle, from whoever sent it. So we can show you which order is in which bay without ever touching your till.Later, one small connection
Want the vehicle to arrive exactly when the bag is packed? Then we need to know when an order is ready. One message. Not needed on day one.
